Today I wanted to discuss a favourite topic of mine - the pinky nude lip. But let's make is summer shall we? There's no denying I'm a huge nude lip lover, and a splash of pink never went a miss either. Combining the two is what I would call the perfect summer nude. All of these products individually are a huge win for me, and you certainly don't have to wear all three at the same time - you do you. 


Charlotte Tilbury Lip Liner in Iconic Nude //
I'm going to say I love this much more then the beloved Pillow Talk liner...I know, I know, controversial maybe, but I prefer how this colour suits my skin. It's a deeper pink tone, and it looks beautiful, giving any nude lipstick a little bit of depth. These are very creamy, last ages, and don't wear off in patches. I would love to try some other colours, so please list your favourites below! 

I feel like these had a real moment when they launched, and I haven't heard many people talk about them since. I adore this lip collection from Hourglass, the shades are all beautiful and Creator is no different. As you can see from the swatch below it's a gorgeous pink, with a touch of peach to mellow it out slightly. I would say it's a satin finish, leaning on the more glossy side (but it's not a gloss, and doesn't contain shimmer to be clear!). This over the lip liner really is a creamy lip made in heaven. 

Oh Rihanna, what did we do without your stunning lip glosses? I believe this is the first lip gloss that she launched with, although I could be completely wrong as I picked this up after she released some more shades. I really do think this shade would suit everyone, it just seems to work with every look, with any lipstick, it's magical - truly. It's not a super sticky formula, nor is it just packed full of chunky glitter, making it super wearable and flattering for everyday. Have you bought into the hype?

Today I wanted to focus on a product that has been in my skincare rotation for a couple of years now. When Glossier first hit the UK I remember being super excited to try out their products, I had a list of items that I wanted to purchase, not knowing I was going to be invited to one of the launch events and receive a very generous goody bag full of product - it really was as dreamy as it sounds. In that bag was their Super Bounce Serum, and I have been in lover ever since.

Like their makeup, their skincare is super minimal and doesn't require much knowledge or expertise to get right. This is one of three serums they have available, and as the name suggests, it's meant to hydrate and plump the skin. At £24 I do think it's very reasonable, and a lot more affordable than some other products you may see floating around the likes of Space NK. 

My skin leans on the dry/dehydrated side, so I tend to gravitate towards serums that contain ingredients such as hyaluronic acid - this one does, as well as B5 which softens and soothes the skin. It's excellent under makeup as it doesn't leave a sticky residue and sinks in very quickly. I've also been using this at night - I find my skin just drinks it up and it looks so much more healthy and radiant by morning. 

This does pair really nicely with the other products in their skincare range - this in combination with their Priming Moisturiser Riche was my go to morning duo for a while! Oh and Lola loves it too....

How have we all been? I feel like I've finally got myself into a routine that doesn't make every day feel like a drag. I'm not currently working, like so many others, and thought I would channel this new found time into picking up an old hobby - blogging. If you follow me on Instagram (@bymilliee) you'll know I haven't abandoned the beauty industry completely, but I have found it difficult to get back into the swing of things when it comes to my blog. To ease myself back in, I wanted to share some of the products I've been reaching for over the last couple months. My beauty routine has been super low-key and minimal, and I haven't really been wearing much makeup, at least not every day. 


A lovely base if you don't want to wear a full-coverage foundation, but you do want a more even complexion. As far as tinted moisturisers go, I adore this one, and the SPF is an added bonus. It leaves a lovely, radiant finish, and I don't find it leans too much on the oily side throughout the day. Being a tinted moisturiser, you do get some added skincare benefits, such as hydration, but I would still always recommend applying on clean, moisturised skin. This was the first non-powder product I tried from Bare Minerals and I definitely want to delve deeper into their liquid foundation range. 

This is almost the concealer version of the BM complexion rescue - a tinted lightweight product, packed full of skincare benefits as well as pigment. I really am starting to see a trend here...I can't stand my under eyes feeling dry and tight throughout the day, so I always prefer to reach for something more hydrating. If I was wearing this out and about I would set with a powder to prevent creasing, but I don't really find that super necessary when I'm not leaving the house. 



I have been trying to maintain the glow in my skin and these drops have been giving me that "you've been out in the sun" look. You don't have to faff about with a body tanner and a mitt, you just simply add a few drops to your moisturiser and you're good to go - it really is that simple. I love how radiant and glowing these drops make my skin look, another reason why I'm totally OK with going makeup-free, or opting for a very light coverage base. It doesn't smell too funky, and I haven't found it leaves any orange patches.

This is one of my all time favourite skincare products, and thankfully this seems to be lasting me ages. It's like a drink of water for the skin, leaving it a lot more luminous and smooth. I tend to use this after my toner, and before I go-in with any serums to help add another layer of hydration. An essence was certainly a product that I didn't know I needed in my routine, but I can't see myself being without this one now. The anti-pollution benefits are also great, although not really needing those too much now I'm not on and off the tubes!

Another Fresh product I'm in love with - their balms really are worth every penny. The caramel is also a firm favourite, but I currently using this coconut scent and it's heavenly. I seem to be applying lip balm every chance I get, I've never had so many on the go at once. I always go back to this one as it feels super hydrating and nourishing on the lips. It also doesn't sink it straight away so your lips feel hydrated for longer.

It does seem a little strange recommending an SPF given the current pandemic we are all experiencing...I do want to keep doing what I love though and keep my beauty talk up as I know (at least for me) it's a nice escape. In addition, here in the UK, we are able to go outside and exercise once a day, and I really really urge you to do so if you can, ensuring to keep your distance! It's super important for the mind, and to stretch your legs if you're sat down all day. This means that SPF is still 100% necessary and should be sitting on your beauty counter ready for those moments.

Dermalogica is a brand I really love and trust when it comes to skincare. They have some amazing products that my skin adores. SPF is a hard nut to crack, some are too thick, too greasy, don't have a high enough factor, the list goes on. Last summer I was all about the Dermalogica Broad Spectrum which is still a firm favorite, so I was really excited to give their new Invisible Physical Defence (very kindly gifted) a go.

Being a physical sunscreen means it will will block out the sun naturally, without bringing harsh chemicals into the mix. It feels super lightweight and is the perfect final step to any skincare routine, setting you up for your daily dose of fresh air! It's a very lightweight formula, and sinks in well to the skin. I haven't been wearing much makeup, I'll be honest, so I can't comment on how well it sits underneath a full face, however feels lovely with the minimal concealer and cheek products I have been using.

I wouldn't go any lower than an SPF of 30, especially for the face, so this is perfect for me. It also offers broad spectrum protection which is something everyone needs to look out for when purchasing an SPF. This essentially means that your skin will be protected from both UVA and UVB rays.

I'm always excited when a new brand enters my collection. These days, there are new brands popping up left right and centre, and now more than ever we need to be enjoying the little things - for me, that's beauty. Gallinee was one of those brands I kept spotting on Instagram, and so when they reached out (full transparency, these are gifted!) I was super excited to give them a try! Like any skincare brand, they are all about the ingredients, so let's dive in a little deeper shall we...

Gallinee focus on skin and haircare products that help support your skin's protective layer - your microbiome. Their products contain prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics to nourish and support the good bacteria, and are suitable for sensitive skin too. Sounds pretty sciencey, but I hope I haven't lost you!

They don't have a huge range on their website, but I like that as I know products aren't just being churned out for the sake of it. The packaging (as you can see) is super super cute, and the two products I have here to share are worth every penny. 


GALLINEE FOAMING FACIAL CLEANSER //

We'll kick things off with a cleanser, a staple in everybody's skincare routine. Don't let the word "foaming" turn you away from this one, I know that can be a dividing word in the skincare industry. I don't class this as your typical "foaming" product in that it doesn't dry out my skin, or make it feel striped and squeaky squeaky clean. The base of this still manages to be very creamy, not at all soapy, and it feels very gentle. I pretty much use all of my cleansers with my Foreo Luna (a handy device I will forever recommend) and I adore the results. If smell if something you take into account when purchasing skincare, this has a very very subtle citrusy scent, so a perfect for those AM cleanses. This retails for £15, so not too pricey!

This was a funny one for me to get used to, as it's a hair shampoo that doesn't lather up! Sounds strange as I think everyone is used to that foaming sensation we get from traditional hair shampoos -but not with this one! Because of that, I found that I first applied way too much (user error!) and it made my hair a little more oily than usual. Second time around I was a more conservative with it, and I loved how gentle it was. It's super creamy and nourishing, and the ingredients are meant to work in a way that means you don't have to wash your hair as often - I'll be sure to feed back on that! If you have a sensitive scalp, this should be on your hair shampoo radar.

Let's take a peek into my bathroom shall we...I don't know about you, but I'm such a product hoarder, especially in the bathroom - sorry to my boyfriend who has about 2cm worth of counter space! I can't be the only one who has the odd body wash and lotion from various Christmas and birthday gift sets, but today I want to dive into the beauty products I use again and again, and that have a permanent place on my bathroom shelves.


 FRESH SOY CLEANSER //
This has to be one of my top three cleansers for sure. It's so simple, yet effective, and doesn't strip the skin. The smells is super fresh and my skin is always left feeling so clean, nourished, and not at all dry. Some few key ingredients to note; soy protein, cucumber extract and rosewater, so even if you have more sensitive skin I think you'll like this. I'm definitely overdue a trip to the Fresh store in Covent Garden to pick up a new one!

& OTHER STORIES PERLE DE COCO BODY LOTION //
My oh my do I adore the smell of this. Slightly out of season maybe, but I've never (and I mean never) had so many compliments on a scent in all my 23 years of living. This is a sweet, very sweet, scent, packed full of coconut, caramel and vanilla. It also feels amazing on the skin, which I suppose is the important part, not to mention to scent lingers on the skin all day long - winner for those who like to smell like a fresh batch of cookies! This is the only body moisturiser I will spend over £10 for...worth every penny.

FARRYN AMBER LUNA EVENING FACIAL OIL //
This has been my go-to night oil for a while now. It's incredibly luxurious on the skin, and feels ultra nourishing and hydrating. You can pick this up from a few places in the UK, Selfridges being one, so it's fairly new to the scene and I haven't really heard anybody talking about it. I adore the way this makes the skin look and feel, especially if I'm experiencing any dry / dull patches, aided by lavender and primrose oils that help to tone and soothe. Certainly one to keep in mind if you're in the market for a new oil.

DR LIPP ORIGINAL NIPPLE BALM //
Despite being called a nipple balm, this has to be my favourite lip balm. It's super super thick and I slather this stuff on in the winter months. I'm also prone to some very very dry and flakey patches around my mouth and chin when it gets bitterly cold, and this is the only product I've found to dramatically reduce that. For that, this little gem will always be in my life.




SAM MCKNIGHT COOL GIRL TEXTURE SPRAY //
Whenever I style my hair this is always the first product I reach for. I don't curl my hair all that often, but when I do, this helps to create those textured lived in waves we all see on Pinterest and try desperately try to recreate. Touching on smell again, this one gives off sexy man vibes incase anyone is into that. It's no surprise that hair stylist to the stars knows how to make a good styling product, so definitely give his brand a go if you haven't already.

 KRISTIN ESS LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER //
Something slightly newer to my routine, but I've been super impressed with how soft and silky this makes my hair post-wash. As my hair gets longer, it gets knottier, so I'm always after products which help to keep everything sleek and knot-free. This is also a pretty inexpensive brand compared to the likes of Living Proof and Ouai, so I love that it's more accessible and I don't feel as bad when I use 20 spitz at a time. With that being said, maybe don't go overboard with this one as it may leave your hair a little greasier than you hoped...

DERMALOGICA DAILY MICROFOLIANT //
This is a real all-over exfoliator for me. I love it for my face when I want a gentle scrub (I use the word scrub in the loosest sense as you should never really "scrub" your skin!) and to remove any dead skin cells that may have built up during these colder climates. My legs however is where this gets the most use...I adore this for exfoliating my body before I go in with my epilator or tan. I find it super customisable as you mix it with water, or in this case a body wash, so you can really go as intense as you like. I do epilate my legs, so a good exfoliator is key to prevent ingrown hairs!

FRESH UMBRIAN CLAY PURIFYING MASK //
Another Fresh product, this time in the form of a face mask, and they do some of my faves. Their Unbrian Clay Mask is fabulous if you need a deep cleanse and something that is really going to clear those pores. I leave this on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Top tip -  I always apply my masks with a flat foundation paddle brush, it's so much easer and it doesn't get all up in your finger nails.

I find it super customisable as you mix it with water, or in this case a body wash, so you can really go as intense as you like. I do epilate my legs, so a good exfoliator is key to prevent ingrown hairs!

FRESH UMBRIAN CLAY PURIFYING MASK //
Another Fresh product, this time in the form of a face mask, and they do some of my faves. Their Unbrian Clay Mask is fabulous if you need a deep cleanse and something that is really going to clear those pores. I leave this on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Top tip -  I always apply my masks with a flat foundation paddle brush, it's so much easer and it doesn't get all up in your finger nails.

Skincare will always be a love affair of mine. I adore researching the best new ingredients, and the brands that are really delivering with their newest releases. Coming into 2020 I did want to strip back my skincare routine some-what. I'm not talking about cleanse, tone, moisturise - your girl needs a little more attention than that - but taking the less is more approach. With that said, here's some products I loved towards the end of 2019, and that I won't be switching out anytime soon! 




It's no secret that I love Fresh as a brand. My skin totally adores their products, and I always love their new releases. A facial essence was definitely something I was keen to get on board with, and I'm super happy with this one. Essentially, it's another super thin layer of moisture that you apply post-cleanse. I didn't know how much I would love this, but it really makes my skin feel so much more nourished and hydrated. I'll use this AM and PM for optimum results. It also helps to battle the effects of pollution on the skin, which is a huge plus as a London dweller. 




This has been in my routine for years now and I continue to repurchase it time and time again. Kiehl's certainly know a thing or two about oils. I was obsessed with their Midnight Recovery oil for years, so when they released their day-time version I was super excited to give it a go. This makes my skin so so radiant and hydrated, it's perfect for these dull winter days. I take a few drops and will mix it in with my moisturiser. You can use this alone of course, but I love to play mixologist and add this to my favourite daytime moisturiser for that ultimate supple glow.




This is a new brand to me, and they kindly reached out and gifted me a selection of their products. For the price point, I was bloody impressed with the bits I got to try. In that mix was their Daily Brightening Serum that contains Hyularonic Acid, an ingredient known for it's hydrating properties. I suffer with dry / dehydrated skin, so this is right up my street, and is a serum I would highly recommend if you sit in that same boat.  It sinks in very well, making it the perfect AM serum to use before your makeup, and my skin feels 100% more moisturised after. Definitely don't forget the power of a Hyularonic serum!





Keeping with the Good Molecules theme, the other product I was able to try was their Priming Moisturiser. I don't use this in replace of my standard AM moisturiser (which we'll come to in a second) but I do find it creates an extra layer of hydration before I apply my foundation. It has a handy pump, and I love how lightweight this feels on the skin. It's not sticky, or too greasy, it's a very easy-to-use formula and feels lovely on the skin.  It's also Silicone-free, so it doesn't have that slippy texture. In the summer, I may use this as my normal moisturiser, but for now in the Winter I love the added boost this gives me.




I will always have a selection of masks floating around in my bathroom. I love the process of masking, I find it really relaxing and like I'm taking time out for myself. This isn't something I do everyday, but a few times a week I do like to soak up those added benefits they provide. Lately, I've been gravitating towards the Evolve Organic Beauty Radiance Glow Mask which is as lovely as it sounds. It smells like chocolate so already we're off to a great start, and it leaves my skin so so soft and radiant. It contains Cocoa powder and clay which help to exfoliate a detoxify the skin, whilst the organic oils help to maintain moisture and really give you that youthful glow. At £24 I think this is definitely worth picking up!

This is another one that is packed full of hydration and moisture,  more pricey that some other bits mentioned here, but I can't fault the formula on these dry days. The packaging I love, the blue jar I think is super summery and looks lovely on my bathroom counter - not essential, but it's the little things. This is a very light-weight gel/cream which leaves my skin plump and hydrated all day long. I have also been known to reach for this in the evenings as I love it that much. I'm coming to the end of this now, but I'm determined to use every last drop. 


This is a new release from Dermalogica and I was super lucky to receive this on the day it launched. I'm not fussy when it comes to eye creams - I don't want something too heavy and claggy, but being in my early 20s I'm more trying to prevent and hydrate. Eye serums are a great first step if you're young and just wanted to dabble in the orbital skincare game. This one in particular is so lightweight, it sinks in effortlessly and the Vitamin C helps to brighten those tired eyes. This is a fantastic daily eye serum to use if you don't want anything too thick.
