Recently there have been a few hair brands catching my eye. I'm not really one to spend a lot on haircare products, I'd rather splurge on other items, and treat all my hair needs down the isles of Boots. I do feel there are a lot more middle-market hair brands popping up though, so I wanted to see if they are really better than the Doves, and the L'Oreals I tend to use on the daily. O&M, and Ouai are two brands in particular that I wanted to try. Ouai has been everywhere since it's launch so there's no surprise they were on the top of my list to try. O&M is a brand I don't hear as much about, but I love their packaging and the product I'm about to show you is right up my street so I had to grab it!

O&M Know Knott Conditioning Detangler: Leave in conditioner sprays are my jam, I love how they make my hair feel. I have quite long hair, so it's definitely prone to getting tangled, especially as I wear it down most of the time, so give me a product which claims to soften and detangle the hair, and I'm all ears! The smell is super amazing too, much nicer then the Dove one I was using before. It's very fresh and fruity, perfect for summer! I will apply this to my freshly washed hair, once I've hopped out the shower, and it leaves my hair feeling so soft and nourished once it's dry. I especially love this if I wash my hair in the mornings as the smell is just amazing throughout the day.

Ouai Wave Spray: In the summer, I really love beachy waves - I mean, who doesn't? If I do curl my hair, I'll always reach for a spray like this to roughen them up a bit, and create a more casual do. This handy travel size is also perfect for taking to the beach with you, so you can really emphasise those textured, beach waves. It smell like suncream, but in a good way, it will really remind you of sipping cocktails by the ocean, and splashing about in the sea if you use this in the winter. So far, I'm loving this and really want to try out more from the range. Maybe their hair oil next?

There's always the odd beauty product I like to apply right before I hit the sack. Although I do my skincare routine in the bathroom, there's some miscellaneous products which stay right here on my bedside table. Stuff like hand cream and lip balm, I much prefer to use before bed so I know they are going to sink in properly without me disturbing them too much.

This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray: I know that 99.9% of the world population use and love this, and I totally believe it's worth the hype. If you're slightly sceptical of this, I get it, is there something that can actually send you off to sleep? Well, technically no, however it does an amazing job at creating a super relaxing atmosphere to make the task of falling asleep a lot easier. I spray this around my room 10 minutes before bed, so when I'm ready to sleep I feel totally calm and switched off.  It's infused with lavender and chamomile, so as you can imagine, it smells amazing.

Nourish Refreshing Toning Mist: Using something refreshing before bed may seem strange, but as the weather has been so hot and muggy here in the UK, this has been a total life saver. I hate going to sleep when I feel hot and sticky, it's never a nice feeling, so a few spritz of this really cools me down. It's also packed full of great skincare benefits that tone and hydrate the skin so I love it. The smell is also beautiful, quite rosy, yet very fresh and spa like.

Lanolips Intense Rose Hand Cream: I always use hand cream before bed, I can't stand to use it during the day when I'm doing things, I find it's just a faff. This one does sink in very quickly, and the smell is a gorgeous subtle rose, nothing to overpowering. The packaging is also so cute, very retro and look gorgeous sat on my bedside table. As the packaging suggests, it's an intense formula, so it does a great job at hydrating the hands, something many of us forget to do!

Glossier Balm Dot Com: Glossier is the brand of moment I feel, everyone is talking about them. In the UK, we aren't able to get hold of them YET, but they are coming!! To hold you over, you can pick up their Balm Dot Com from Net-a-Porter, which is exactly what I did. It's a very simple, vaseline-like formula which works great as a lip balm to plump and hydrate. The smell I'm not crazy about, it's kind of plasticy, but I do like how it feels on the lips. The packing is enough for me to want to pick up another one!

Mojitos are my absolute favourite cocktail hands down. I find them so refreshing and the perfect summer treat. A few months ago I went to cocktail making class in Barcelona for my sisters hen do, it was such a fun night and I'm so happy that the classic mojito was one of the cocktails we made. I'm still no professional - although I'd kind of love to be - but after having a little lesson, I thought I'd share with you how to make the perfect mojito, and one with a little twist!

What you will need: (makes 1 mojito)
3 shots if white rum
7 mint leaves, plus a few extra to garnish
Soda water
1 lime
Crushed Ice
2 teaspoons of brown sugar
Optional: A handful of raspberries

To start off with, cut your lime into quarters and place them into the bottom of the glass. Then spoon around 2 teaspoons of brown sugar in with the lime. You can use less or more, depending on how sweet you like it, but I find 2 spoonfuls the perfect amount for me. If you want to make a raspberry mojito, then you can add a handful of raspberries in at this point. The raspberries will make it even more refreshing and they will give a lovely tart flavouring to the cocktail, I really love the mint and raspberry combo!

Once those ingredients are in you're going to want to crush them together to release the lime juice and to dissolve the brown sugar. Once you're happy with how that's looking and the brown sugar is dissolved you can add in the mint leaves. I was told 7 is the perfect amount, so that's what I've done here. You don't want to rub the leaves too much before you put them in, but you do want to release some of their flavour, so simply slap them in between your palms just once of twice, then pop them in.

Ice is a super important part of this Cuban cocktail, and you want to use crushed ice, as it doesn't melt as quickly! Fill the glass up to the top with ice then add in around 3 shots of white rum, depending on how strong you like it. Once your alcohol is in, give it another mix round, making sure to cover the top of your glass with your hand so the ice doesn't go everywhere! Once the rum, lime and mint has been mixed together, top it off with soda water and garnish with a sprig of mint and a wedge of lime and enjoy!

Travel minis are the one thing I have a hard time throwing away. I keep a box under my vanity which is filled with sachets and mini pots of various lotions and potions. My mum has a similar set-up, so I’ll blame her for my hoarder-like nature.  All those little samples you’ve got from beauty boxes and gift sets will come in handy one day, I promise! Lately I’ve been staying here there and everywhere as I’m working away from home, so I’ve been really trying to pack as many minis with as possible to save valuable bag space.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturiser: I know that this isn’t technically under the 100ml mark, however they do have a smaller version (I promise) I just don’t have it at the moment. When it comes to travelling I like to take items I know I can rely on to keep my skin looking and feeling great. This is a lovely fuss-free moisturiser which nourishes the skin, and is a great one to use under make-up as it sinks in quickly.  They have also just released this with SPF30, another great reason to pick it up.

NourishPeptide Serum: I have been loving this lately. It’s exactly what my dehydrated skin needs around this time of year. I can’t do my morning skincare routine without it, and this handy mini size has been in living in my skincare bag. The smell is a lovely citrus scent and the serum itself is infused with vitamin C, one of the best hydrating ingredients out there. My skin drinks this up!!

Kiehl’sAvocado Eye Treatment: I feel like Kiehl’s is such a great brand to go for if you have dry and sensitive skin, their products tick every box for me. This is a lovely eye cream which is rich and hydrating under the eyes, the avocado is also really soothing. You can buy this smaller size straight off the website, which I love, as you don’t have to pick up a whole gift set, or wait for it it to be included in a beauty box, just to get a travel size.

OriginsGinzing Moisturiser: Origins do some lovely gift sets all year round, I would highly suggest checking them out. They always include a great travel size moisturiser which is the perfect addition to your holiday skincare stash. This one is particular is great to use in the mornings as it’s really invigorating and hydrating. It’s more of a gel formula so it sits really well underneath makeup.

ClarinsHydraquench Moisturiser: For the evenings I like something a little richer, and this mini Clarins moisturiser is perfect. I’m so tempted to pick up the full-size, as I love how plump it leaves my skin and the hydration it gives.

Liz EarleSkin Tonic: I fee like toners are the one thing I always forget in my travel skincare bag. I never seem to have any minis around so they are always left behind. This Liz Earle one was in a gift set they were doing and the size is perfect. I love this product too, and you can buy it in a spray bottle as well, so it’s super easy to use. It’s very soothing, and I know if my skin is having a moment, I can rely on this to bring it back to normality.

Sol de Janeiro BrazilianBum Bum Cream: This product has litrally been everywhere since it launched on Cult Beauty in the UK. I only have the mini size and it reminds me of summer holidays so much! It has the nicest scent ever, it’s like a sweet tropical cocktail – hence why it reminds me of summer – and it’s also a lovely velvety formula.

I’m also really into keeping sachet masks. I find sachets a tricky one as once you’ve opened them, they are hard to store as the product just dries up or leaks out. Masks though, you only use once anyway so I love to keep these on hand so I can try out something new. Masks also come in large containers, so they aren’t the best things to travel with, and won’t be on the top of your priority list. These sachets take up no room at all so I love to throw a few of these in, especially for flights.

I've always been one to take my makeup off at the end of the day, it's super important. However, a lot of the times I would just stop there and go in with my toner, serum etc, but it's great to add an extra cleansing step in to ensure all your makeup is removed and your skin is completely clean. Here's a couple of products I love to use.

Pixi Nourishing Cleansing Balm: If you haven't tried Pixi yet, what are you waiting for? They have some great skincare picks for not too much money! I love this cleansing balm as it is so hydrating on the skin and doesn't leave it feeling stripped or tight like some makeup removers. It's very gentle on the eyes and does remove mascara well I'm happy to report. I always remove this with a facial cloth, as I can sometimes find with just water it doesn't seem to disappear, you literally need to wipe it away! It leaves my skin so soft.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish: Such a classic and probably the most loved cleanser in the industry. It's so easily accessible and really does work for everyone. I haven't met a single person who doesn't like this stuff, it's so gentle yet really effective. I take 1 pump and massage it all over my skin then remove with a cloth and warm water. If you have sensitive skin, dry skin, normal skin, any skin really, you will love this. It's a great fuss-free cleanser. You can also pick this up in loads of different sizes,  I have the largest one here, but the smaller sizes are great for travelling.

I’ve tried my fair share of glowy, dewy primers, it’s the one base product I seem to repurchase time and time again. Lately there have been three which have really stood out to me. They all offer something slightly different, with varying shades and finishes on the skin, so hopefully there will be one which you love the sound of.

Over the past year or so I've seen loads of people feature Lanolips on their blogs. I was never too fussed about what they had to offer, but when I saw them on sale in Waitress I figured I'd snap a few bits up. First off, I really love the packaging. It's very retro feeling, the pink is really girly and photographs beautifully. I picked up the hand cream and 101 ointment, and here are my thoughts...

ASOS is one of my favourite places to shop. Whether it be for beauty, or clothes, they have everything you could ever need. The student discount also helps a lot when it comes to picking up some new pieces for my wardrobe. I figured as I check the new-in section daily, and have probably spent the equivalent of my life savings on the site, I'd tell you about some of the brands I love to shop. They have everything from New Look, to Self Portrait, so there really is something for everyone to meet every price point.
