Ok. I know that in every post I mention that I have dry skin...but I'm just being real with you all, and for me that doesn't just stop at my face, I'm pretty much just like a full on almond croissant (wow, what an image)! But seriously, in the Winter, my arms and legs need just as much attention as my face which is why I always have a body scrub sitting in my shower. 

When Mio reached out as asked me to try their brand new Solar Power Body Scrub I didn't even hesitate - "yes yes yes please". First off, you get nearly 300g of product, which is a pretty hefty amount considering scrubs aren't something I use everyday. Secondly (and this is before we actually dive into the formula!) the smell is absolutely insane. If you're familiar with the classic Calippo ice lolly, this is that smell! And if you're not familiar with that, it's basically a gorgeous sweet orange/lemon scent that is very fresh and transports you to the beautiful Italian countryside (at least in my mind). This retails for £25 - a little pricey for a body product, however you do get a lot.


One of the key selling points for me is that it is marketed as an illuminating body scrub - my dream! There used to be a scrub from Garnier which had the same illuminating properties, that has sadly been discontinued, so I'm very happy to have this in my life! Nuxe also have one that is similar, and also L'Occitaine. The one drawback for me would be that it comes in a pot, and not a bottle. I get that as it's thicker it may be harder to pack it into a squeezey bottle, but I find pots get so messy in the shower and I always get water mixed in with the product! Packaging aside, let's get on to the all important formula.

The texture is very sand like, I actually much prefer it to those larger chunkier scrubs you can find on the market, it feels a lot more gentle. You can definitely see a few little sparkles here and there which give it that illuminating finish. You will look like a glowing Victoria Secret Mermaid after you use this - it's divine! The smell makes it such a lovely experience in the shower or bath, like I said before, it transports me back to my summer holidays - I adore it! I always follow up with a body moisturiser and I can assure you your skin will feel so super soft! 

Scrubs are also a great way of tackling pesky ingrown hairs, or stubborn texture on my upper arms, this one buffs away the dead skin really effortlessly. I am very prone to ingrown hairs on my legs, I think because I epilate they're being pulled from the root underneath the skin, as oppose to shaving where you're just scratching the surface. I'm not sure if that's 100% accurate, but please let me know in the comments if you know more! What I'm trying to say is that this is a great product for keeping your skin smooth and bump free.

Bye Bye Winter Skin: Mio Solar Power Body Scrub.

Ok. I try to combat that by exfoliating as often as I can remember. This is a lovely, fine physical scrub that really gets in there and removes dead skin. The smell is very pleasant as well, quite summery, but to be honest I love how uplifting it is. If this was in a squeezy bottle, this would be my perfect body product! You obviously don't want to over exfoliate, however every 2-3 days works well for me at keeping my body smooth and nourished. I also like to run a little over my feet to keep those looking acceptable - top tip! 

Isle of Paradise Tanning Drops in Dark // I've been a fan of Isle of Paradise for a few years now, and I've used their medium face and body drops before, but I do find I can get away with the dark version. These drops are the easiest way to achieve a natural tan - even my mum comments on how nice the shade is, and trust me she would be the first to say if it was at all orangey! I love that you add the product into your moisturiser, that way you aren't skimping on hydration - the best of both worlds. I will use them on a mitt, I've tried without and it wasn't a good look...so to be safe I will always mix both my moisturiser and the drops on the mitt and apply from there. I find that the dark shade doesn't really need to be built up, you can get good colour payoff after the first use. I found this not to be the case with the medium drops, however if you like a more gradual tanning approach then they may be for you. 

& Other Stories Perle de Coco // The nicest smelling body product I have EVER tried. You can't tell me I'm wrong, OK. This is very similar to the Bum Bum Cream that everyone raves about - the smells are practically the same (I do have both so I am equipped to say such things), however this one lingers on the skin for longer which I personally appreciate. This also has a pump...can you tell which one I prefer!? If you've been tempted by the Bum Bum Cream, I highly encourage you to pick this one up and I don't think you will be disappointed. It's a sweet scent, very vanilla and caramel heavy. The texture is lovely as well, super hydrating but not too thick that you have to wait 10 years to get dressed. 

Aveeno Body Lotion // If you're after a body lotion to really hydrate and you're not too worried about smelling like a fresh batch of cookies, I would recommend Aveeno as a brand to have on your radar. They do moisturisers very very well, they are perfect for all my dry and sensitive skin readers out there. When my skin feels particularly lizard-like, this is my go-to. Also another pump...we love to see it. This particular lotion is un-fragranced, another great asset if you have sensitive skin. You can't go wrong with this as a good everyday body lotion!

Four For the Body.

 I wanted to shine light on some body products I've been reaching for lately. My skin gets a lot dryer in the Autumn/Winter, and I think because I cover it up more with jumpers and jeans, I do tend to neglect it. These are all very effective products, and smell lovelyyy - minus the fake tan, the smell isn't bad, but I wouldn't exactly describe it as heavenly. I tend to talk a lot about the skincare I use on my face, but not so much the products I use on my skin everywhere else...so here we go! 

Sunday Rain Body Scrub // I love a body exfoliator - my legs especially get very dry and can often be prone to lumps and bumps post-epilation (side note, if you want to know more about epilating and how I've found it let me know!). I try to combat that by exfoliating as often as I can remember. This is a lovely, fine physical scrub that really gets in there and removes dead skin. The smell is very pleasant as well, quite summery, but to be honest I love how uplifting it is. If this was in a squeezy bottle, this would be my perfect body product! Let's take a peek into my bathroom shall we...I don't know about you, but I'm such a product hoarder, especially in the bathroom - sorry to my boyfriend who has about 2cm worth of counter space! I can't be the only one who has the odd body wash and lotion from various Christmas and birthday gift sets, but today I want to dive into the beauty products I use again and again, and that have a permanent place on my bathroom shelves.


 FRESH SOY CLEANSER //
This has to be one of my top three cleansers for sure. It's so simple, yet effective, and doesn't strip the skin. The smells is super fresh and my skin is always left feeling so clean, nourished, and not at all dry. Some few key ingredients to note; soy protein, cucumber extract and rosewater, so even if you have more sensitive skin I think you'll like this. I'm definitely overdue a trip to the Fresh store in Covent Garden to pick up a new one!

& OTHER STORIES PERLE DE COCO BODY LOTION //
My oh my do I adore the smell of this. Slightly out of season maybe, but I've never (and I mean never) had so many compliments on a scent in all my 23 years of living. This is a sweet, very sweet, scent, packed full of coconut, caramel and vanilla. It also feels amazing on the skin, which I suppose is the important part, not to mention to scent lingers on the skin all day long - winner for those who like to smell like a fresh batch of cookies! This is the only body moisturiser I will spend over £10 for...worth every penny.

FARRYN AMBER LUNA EVENING FACIAL OIL //
This has been my go-to night oil for a while now. It's incredibly luxurious on the skin, and feels ultra nourishing and hydrating. You can pick this up from a few places in the UK, Selfridges being one, so it's fairly new to the scene and I haven't really heard anybody talking about it. I adore the way this makes the skin look and feel, especially if I'm experiencing any dry / dull patches, aided by lavender and primrose oils that help to tone and soothe. Certainly one to keep in mind if you're in the market for a new oil.

DR LIPP ORIGINAL NIPPLE BALM //
Despite being called a nipple balm, this has to be my favourite lip balm. It's super super thick and I slather this stuff on in the winter months. I'm also prone to some very very dry and flakey patches around my mouth and chin when it gets bitterly cold, and this is the only product I've found to dramatically reduce that. For that, this little gem will always be in my life.




SAM MCKNIGHT COOL GIRL TEXTURE SPRAY //
Whenever I style my hair this is always the first product I reach for. I don't curl my hair all that often, but when I do, this helps to create those textured lived in waves we all see on Pinterest and try desperately try to recreate. Touching on smell again, this one gives off sexy man vibes incase anyone is into that. It's no surprise that hair stylist to the stars knows how to make a good styling product, so definitely give his brand a go if you haven't already.

 KRISTIN ESS LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER //
Something slightly newer to my routine, but I've been super impressed with how soft and silky this makes my hair post-wash. As my hair gets longer, it gets knottier, so I'm always after products which help to keep everything sleek and knot-free. This is also a pretty inexpensive brand compared to the likes of Living Proof and Ouai, so I love that it's more accessible and I don't feel as bad when I use 20 spitz at a time. With that being said, maybe don't go overboard with this one as it may leave your hair a little greasier than you hoped...

DERMALOGICA DAILY MICROFOLIANT //
This is a real all-over exfoliator for me. I love it for my face when I want a gentle scrub (I use the word scrub in the loosest sense as you should never really "scrub" your skin!) and to remove any dead skin cells that may have built up during these colder climates. My legs however is where this gets the most use...I adore this for exfoliating my body before I go in with my epilator or tan. I find it super customisable as you mix it with water, or in this case a body wash, so you can really go as intense as you like. I do epilate my legs, so a good exfoliator is key to prevent ingrown hairs!

FRESH UMBRIAN CLAY PURIFYING MASK //
Another Fresh product, this time in the form of a face mask, and they do some of my faves. Their Unbrian Clay Mask is fabulous if you need a deep cleanse and something that is really going to clear those pores. I leave this on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Top tip -  I always apply my masks with a flat foundation paddle brush, it's so much easer and it doesn't get all up in your finger nails.

Bathroom Beauty.


Let's take a peek into my bathroom shall we...I don't know about you, but I'm such a product hoarder, especially in the bathroom - sorry to my boyfriend who has about 2cm worth of counter space! Travel minis are adorable, and I'm quite the hoarder. I always keep them from beauty boxes, gifts with purchases etc etc, and I love collating a little bag together when the time comes. Anywho, I feel like this may be a long one so lets get into it! 

Skincare: I'm not going to cover everything I use/take with me, but these are just a few bits I feel like would be great for anyones travel beauty stash. I have normal-dry skin which can get a tad oily in the summer, so the following products work great for me. 
Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist: This is a gem of a product to have with you when travelling. On the plane, on the way to your hotel, after a long day in the sun, this will literally make your skin feel amazing despite the environmental challenges. The mist is super fine - so it's easy to go overboard - and the scent is a lovely rosy spa kind of smell, very comforting and relaxing. I love how this makes my skin feel after sitting on a plane, it's the hydrating boost it desperately needs. The full size is hella pricey, so I'd definitely recommend picking up this mini regardless of if you're travelling or not. 
Clinique All About Eyes: I'm a huge Clinique skincare fan, and since getting their Christmas advent calendar last year, I still have a few minis floating about. This eye cream is fab for hydrating and giving a good base for makeup. I'm not too fussy with eye creams - I mainly look for something lightweight which offers a good dose of hydration. This ticks those boxes so into the travel bag it goes! 


Makeup: I always pack way too much makeup when I go away, I just like to have options...I can find base products take up so much room, so I'm thankful to have a few minis I can take instead of the full sizers. 
Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow: I love this product for everyday use. It sits wonderfully underneath foundation, and gives the skin a lovely lit from within glow. I can be quite heavy handed with this, but it never looks to disco ball like! 
Erborian CC Cream: This is very new to my stash, but I love it for that effortless summer makeup look. It's not a stand out as far as coverage goes, but the feel and finish is lovely and very natural. It comes out the tube as a white cream with little grey beads in, it will then blend in with your skin tone to even and cover the skin. This smells very heavily of suncream which is interesting...buuut it has SPF25 so thats a bonus I suppose. 
Benefit Hoola: This is the cutest little bronzer ever. Hoola is such a classic product, it's a beautiful bronzer which adds such a nice amount of warmth to the skin. It's matte, so you can use it as more of contour as well. The mid-tone brown works great for my skin, even when I have a bit of a tan. 
It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara: I got this as a free sample when I purchased the CC cream from Selfridges, so it's definitely worth asking for one of you too are making a purchase! I love love love this mascara, it's quickly become one of my all time favourites and I'm 100% going to be picking up the full size. It gives the lashes so much volume, but separates them too and makes them look amazingly defined a fluttery. It's the perfect mascara if you want a bit of everything, and it doesn't smudge! It's not a waterproof formula, so if you are in and out the pool, or at the beach with this on, I would be a bit careful. 

Hair: My hair can really take a battering when I'm away. Being exposed to the sun, and in a out of the pool it can leave it quite damaged and lifeless, so there a couple of bits I like to have on hand to combat that. 
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo: I'm never without a dry shampoo, my roots can get really oily at times, especially if I'm sweating it out in the heat - nice image there Millie... This is the one I currently have, it's really nice and does the job, but I think I'll just purchase the classic Batiste next time as it's only a couple of quid. I do like the Living Proof Perfect Day Hair range mind, they all smell lovely and fresh and leave my hair feeling healthy and clean. 
Ouai Wave Oil: I love this, it's the perfect holiday hair companion. It smells like summer, and this will give you those beachy hair vibes we all crave. I tend to pop this on damp hair and I don't find it drys crispy at all. If you're using it on dry hair, use it sparingly as it can make your hair ever so slightly stiff and it kind of feels like you need to wash it out straight away. A couple of spritz on your lengths and ends will do the trick, and leave your locks beautifully tousled. 

Body: I'm all about supple, nourished skin the summer. I hate having dry skin, especially on my arms and legs, so I will always spend some extra time in the evenings making sure everything is as moisturised as can be. 
Nuxe Golden Shimmer Dry Body Oil: I really love Nuxe as a brand, they do body products extremely well, and they all smell amazing! This is a lovely body product to use in the evenings before heading out for dinner. If gives a gorgeous glow to the skin, as well as adding a touch more bronze to your limbs. To be honest, I don't really tan very well, I'll go a few shades darker but nothing crazy, so products like this are great for faking it. I will apply this after I've got dressed, but it doesn't transfer or sit on the skin. 
L'Occitane Almond Body Concentrate: I have the full size of this too, and it's one of my favourite body moisturisers. It's so super moisturising which is exactly what my skin needs after being the sun all day, it also smells divine as the name would suggest. Their body range is fantastic, and I'd highly recommend picking this up of you haven't tried it already. It sinks in beautiful and leaves you smelling, and feeling, great!

Travel Minis You Need In Your Stash.


So I've been on a couple of trips over the past month or so, and I have a few more before the year is up. I'm a real 'only travelling with hand luggage' convert as of late, and with that comes the issue of packing my entire beauty routine into a little plastic zip lock bag. Luckily for me, my boyfriend who I normally travel with basically packs a deodorant and aftershave, so I can always shove some in his bag too. Thank god for low maintenance men eh? 

Travel minis are adorable, and I'm quite the hoarder. I always keep them from beauty boxes, gifts with purchases etc etc, and I love collating a little bag together when the time comes. Anywho, I feel like this may be a long one so lets get into it!

This ticks those boxes so into the travel bag it goes! 


Makeup: I always pack way too much makeup when I go away, I just like to have options...I can find base products take up so much room, so I'm thankful to have a few minis I can take instead of the full sizers. 
Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow: I love this product for everyday use. It sits wonderfully underneath foundation, and gives the skin a lovely lit from within glow. I can be quite heavy handed with this, but it never looks to disco ball like! 
Erborian CC Cream: This is very new to my stash, but I love it for that effortless summer makeup look. It's not a stand out as far as coverage goes, but the feel and finish is lovely and very natural. It comes out the tube as a white cream with little grey beads in, it will then blend in with your skin tone to even and cover the skin. This smells very heavily of suncream which is interesting...buuut it has SPF25 so thats a bonus I suppose. 
Benefit Hoola: This is the cutest little bronzer ever. Hoola is such a classic product, it's a beautiful bronzer which adds such a nice amount of warmth to the skin. It's matte, so you can use it as more of contour as well. The mid-tone brown works great for my skin, even when I have a bit of a tan. 
It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara: I got this as a free sample when I purchased the CC cream from Selfridges, so it's definitely worth asking for one of you too are making a purchase! I love love love this mascara, it's quickly become one of my all time favourites and I'm 100% going to be picking up the full size. It gives the lashes so much volume, but separates them too and makes them look amazingly defined a fluttery. It's the perfect mascara if you want a bit of everything, and it doesn't smudge! It's not a waterproof formula, so if you are in and out the pool, or at the beach with this on, I would be a bit careful. 

Hair: My hair can really take a battering when I'm away. Being exposed to the sun, and in a out of the pool it can leave it quite damaged and lifeless, so there a couple of bits I like to have on hand to combat that. 
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo: I'm never without a dry shampoo, my roots can get really oily at times, especially if I'm sweating it out in the heat - nice image there Millie... This is the one I currently have, it's really nice and does the job, but I think I'll just purchase the classic Batiste next time as it's only a couple of quid. I do like the Living Proof Perfect Day Hair range mind, they all smell lovely and fresh and leave my hair feeling healthy and clean. 
Ouai Wave Oil: I love this, it's the perfect holiday hair companion. It smells like summer, and this will give you those beachy hair vibes we all crave. I tend to pop this on damp hair and I don't find it drys crispy at all. If you're using it on dry hair, use it sparingly as it can make your hair ever so slightly stiff and it kind of feels like you need to wash it out straight away. A couple of spritz on your lengths and ends will do the trick, and leave your locks beautifully tousled. 

Body: I'm all about supple, nourished skin the summer. I hate having dry skin, especially on my arms and legs, so I will always spend some extra time in the evenings making sure everything is as moisturised as can be. 
Nuxe Golden Shimmer Dry Body Oil: I really love Nuxe as a brand, they do body products extremely well, and they all smell amazing! This is a lovely body product to use in the evenings before heading out for dinner. If gives a gorgeous glow to the skin, as well as adding a touch more bronze to your limbs. To be honest, I don't really tan very well, I'll go a few shades darker but nothing crazy, so products like this are great for faking it. I will apply this after I've got dressed, but it doesn't transfer or sit on the skin. 
L'Occitane Almond Body Concentrate: I have the full size of this too, and it's one of my favourite body moisturisers. It's so super moisturising which is exactly what my skin needs after being the sun all day, it also smells divine as the name would suggest. Their body range is fantastic, and I'd highly recommend picking this up of you haven't tried it already. It sinks in beautiful and leaves you smelling, and feeling, great!

I’m going to start with some body care favourites I’ve been slathering on my limbs. The first is a fake tan, and it’s no shocker that I’m mentioning the Isle of Paradise Tanning Water in Medium. This seems to be Instagram’s favourite fake tan at the moment, and I can see why so many people rave about it. When I first tried it out I wasn’t thrilled with the results I got – I have a huge streak on my thigh and a few patches of tan which I had obviously missed in the blending process. As it doesn’t have a guide colour, it can be a bit scary on your first use, and learning from experience you really need to spend a bit longer blending it all in with a mitt. I braved it, and went in for a second try and I have to say I did really love it. The colour is the most natural bronze shade I’ve ever received from a fake tan, and it seems to stick around for good 5 days. The initial smell is gorgeous, very fresh and fruity, although that pesky fake tan smell does seem to creep in the longer you leave this on the skin. I leave it brewing overnight, then rinse in the morning and I’m so happy I persevered with it.



To keep my limbs soft and moisturised, there are a couple of products I reach for. The first is a lotion from &Other Stories – if you haven’t tried any of their body care products, you’re seriously missing out! This body lotion is their Pearl De Coco scent and it smells oh so lovely, very sweet and full of coconut, vanilla and caramel – what a combo! I also love that this comes with a pump, that makes it really fuss free to use. The formula of this is lovely, it leaves my skin super supple after every use and it sinks in really well, so you can use it AM. I get a lot of compliments on how I smell when I wear this, so that’s a sign it must be alright! 

Next up is the Kiehl’s Body Oil, an absolutely gorgeous product which is in a handy dandy spray. I personally think every oil should come with a spray cap, it’s genius and makes it a lot less messy. The smell of this is glorious, it’s quite sweet again, but those are the scents I love in the summer. This is a great one to use in the evenings before heading out as it gives your skin a gorgeous glow, as well as been really moisturising at the same time.  The fact this also comes in a mini size is amazing, makes it the perfect travel buddy. 



On my skin, I don’t change too much, but I do like products which are going to give me an extra bit of glow. Oils are a great way to give your skin a dewy finish and an extra dose of moisturisation. I still don’t like anything too heavy which may clog the skin, so the Kiehl’s Daily RevivingConcentrate has been a dream to use. It has nice a fresh scent, and it applies beautifully to the skin. You can either use it on it’s own, or mix in with your daily moisturiser or foundation for that added nourishment. Kiehl’s do oils so well in my opinion, and my dry skin absolutely laps this up. If you’re worried about oils being too much for your skin, try this one out as it’s more of a lightweight formula.

As an added step in my PM routine, I've been reaching for the Charlotte Tilbury Bronzing Overnight Mask to ensure my skin isn't a million shades lighter than the rest of my body. I find this a really subtle, and natural, way to give my skin that beautiful sun-kissed look, but without the harmful rays of the sun itself! I take around a 20p sized drop and work it in the skin with my fingers. Make sure you get every nook and cranny, you don't want any strange pale patches! Always wash your hands after using a product like this, there's nothing worse than fake tan hands. I really love this as a facial fake tanner, it gives my skin a boost of radiance, a boost of bronze, what more can I ask for. 



My makeup preferences lean more on the light-weight, creamy side, which you probably all know by now. I love reaching for my ChanelVitalumiere Aqua Foundation, it has beautiful buildable coverage that never looks too much on the skin. It’s a natural, dewy finish which still lets your own skin shine through. For an everyday foundation, you can’t go too wrong with this one. Plus, if you’re in a hurry you can apply with fingers and it will still give a flawless finish to the skin. Complete with SPF, this is the perfect summer base.

On my cheeks, I’ve rediscovered my love for the StilaGerbera Convertible Colour. This is a multi-use product, so can be applied to both your cheeks and lips to give a flushed, seamless effect for your makeup look. This specific shade I can’t personally pull off on my lips, it’s a bit too pale for my liking, but as a cheek colour it works really well. I simply bop my beauty blender in, and dab on my cheeks. You don’t need a lot of this, so start small and build up. The rosy pink shade gives off such a gorgeous natural sheen to the cheeks, and the formulation of these last really well on the skin. To top that off, I go in with a few dots of the Charlotte TilburyLight Wand on the high points of my face, and blend! This has quickly become a favourite of mine, the golden champagne shade works wonders on my skin tone and the glow it gives off is truly stunning. If you love a cream highlight and you don’t yet have this, you need to pick it up!
