I planned this post fully expecting it to be Autumn central, but in true UK style we had an unexpected heatwave...who would have thought? With that being said, I have a feeling Autumn weather will resume as normal very soon, so I wanted to hop on here and share with you some foundations I love to wear when transitioning into the colder months. It's worth noting that my skin does lean more on the dry side, especially as we move into the colder months, so with that in mind the foundations I'm mentioning do cater to that very well.

NARS Sheer Glow // I will always love NARS bases - there's something about them that my skin seems to love, from the foundations to the concealers, I will never be without some form of NARS product. It took me years to try out their famous Sheer Glow Foundation. This was a product I've had on my wishlist for what seems like a lifetime, and I'm shook that it's taken me this long to purchase it. Is it really "sheer" as the name would suggest? No - I'd say it's more of a medium coverage foundation, however it still remains luminous and lightweight on the skin. For me, a sheer product would be more of a tinted moisturiser, which this definitely is not - just something to keep in mind if you're thinking of picking it up. The skin like finish is lovely all year round, and it's one of those foundations that can easily be built up to a more full-coverage finish.

L'Oreal True Match // This is another foundation I own that's very versatile and lends itself to daytime and evening wear. First off, the shade range it great, something L'Oreal do really well and other drugstore brands should 100% be following in their footsteps. Secondly, the formula is very hydrating, glides over the skin, and doesn't emphasise any dry patches or texture. This also has a lovely sheen to it, creating a lit from within glow I love to sport on the daily. Being the cheapest out of the bunch, this one has a huge stamp of approval from me.

IT Cosmetics CC Cream // This CC Cream really had a moment a year or so ago, everyone and their mother was wearing it (quite literally I got my mum on board and she loves it!). If you want a more matte finish, this won't be that for you, but if you want a glowing complexion I would say check this out. Again, like the NARS Sheer Glow, I think the name may be a little bit deceiving...a CC cream to me means a tinted base which is going to lightly even out the complexion, whereas this steps more into foundation territory offering a higher level of pigment. I think that's why I love it so much as it does have the hydrating aspects of a CC cream, yet it the coverage is very buildable and long-lasting.

MAC Face and Body Foundation // Lastly I have my light coverage option, which let's be honest I'm reaching for most days over here. It's super light and hydrating on the skin, yet I don't find it to be too glowy where I reserve it for summer skin only. On me anyway, the finish is very natural and skin-like, and I'd rely more on my highlight to give me an added boost of luminosity. For day-today wear you really can't beat this if you simply want a foundation that's going to even out your skin but not feel heavy or look like you're wearing a tonne of product. It's quite a watery formula so I always give it a shake before using.
