Aah, MAC lipsticks, familiar territory for many and the hype around these bad boys is still pretty prominent. Over the years my MAC Lipstick collection has grown a bit lot, and whenever I see a shade which is hyped up to the point where it becomes very hard to get hold of, I'm intrigued and want to know what the fuss is all about. Brave was one of those shades for me, but was it worth it?...

MAC Brave has become popular over the past couple of years, probably due to one of the Kardashians but I have no idea so don't quote me on that. At first I thought it was one of those brown-y nude shades as they were all the rage around a smililar time, but it's not at all. Brave is a lovely mauve-y pink shade, my favourite, and it's very wearable and flattering for daily use. If you're a fan of Plumful and/or Syrup from MAC, I think you'll like this.

The finish is a satin, meaning it's comfortable on the lips and doesn't dry down matte. It's not glossy by any means, but it gives a natural sheen to the lips. The staying power is pretty good, I do tend to top it up every now and then throughout the day, but it's not matte so that's to be expected.

Bare in mind the price of MAC lipsticks seems to go up every time I blink, I'm definitely more hesitant to try out a new shade, but I'm happy I did pick this up. Admittedly it is very similar to Plumful and Twig which I do already own, but as they are my most worn shades I don't mid having another one to add to my mauve lip family.
