We all have those nights where sleep is a thing of the imagination. Whether we had to stay up late to finish a project, or the sleep gods just weren't on our side, we've all been there and have had to get up and go somewhere the next day. Here are a few tips and products I have to make myself feel a little less tired in the mornings...
L'Oreal Magic Lumi Primer: I always reach for a dewy base when my skin is feeling dull and tired, it can work wonders for the complexion. This is a very pearlescent shade which helps to illuminate and bring life back into the skin. Paired with a medium coverage foundation this is my go-to when I need a little pick-me-up.
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit: I think concealer is essential any day of week, but particularly when we haven'e had enough shut eye. Bobbi Brown do some lovely concealers and this is a great heavy duty one, perfect for under the eyes. It doesn't crease on me if set with a powder, and I love how bright it makes my under eyes look. I always buy this is a couple of shades lighter than my skin tone so it really lifts the area.
Hourglass Surreal Light Edit: I can't stop mentioning this thing, but it's a great cheek palette and seems to fit into most blog posts I'm doing at the moment. The blush shades in this are perfect to add some colour back into skin and perk up the face. The pink-y shade on the right is my go-to and it adds a nice amount of radiance to the skin. I always recommend going with a brighter, pink toned blush as they really wake up the skin.
MAC Vanilla and All That Glitters Eyeshadow: I tend to steer away from darker bronze shade on my eyes when I'm looking tired as they can my eyes look more dull than they already are. All That Glitters is a gorgeous peachy champagne shade which I like to apply all over the lid. Using a lighter shade with shimmer is really going to brighten the eye area. I love to highlight my inner corner as well to further open the eyes. Vanilla is my favourite for this as it's a lovely creamy colour and it's perfect against my skin tone. A good highlight shade will be different for everyone so just keep swatching until you find one which compliments your complexion well.
Benefit Roller Lash: Always always always curl your lashes before mascara, especially when you've had a late night. This will really help to open your eyes. I always go for a lengthening mascara as well, at the moment I've been into the Benefit Roller Lash which is a great one for everyday. It gives the lashes nice length and definition and doesn't smudge under the eyes.
MAC Brave Lipstick: I always reach for pink-y purple lip when I'm tired. For some reason these tones always light up my face and make me look less tired. I recently picked up Brave from MAC and I'm adoring it for those early mornings. It really reminds me of Plumful, which I love, but more on the matte side.
