Drugstore haircare is something I love, they work well and you really don't have to pay a lot to find something that's suitable for your hair's needs. I've been testing out a couple of new products which I'm in love with and have been using every time I wash my hair - about 2-3 times a week - and I love the results I get. For reference my hair is very flat and can look dry at the ends, thanks to the ombre I got last summer, so these products I love for adding a bit more volume and making my hair seem sleeker.
For shampoo and conditioner I've been using the Dove Oxygen Moisture range which is targeted at people with fine, flat hair. I change my shampoo and conditioners all the time, so I never stick to one I love, but I can definitely see myself repurchasing these down the line. The shampoo is a clear gel consistency which helps to lift the roots. The scent has that very fresh cucumber smell, I love it. The conditioner is a lovely cream formula which I run through the lengths and ends of my hair, I find combing your conditioner through a great way to prevent knots. The moisture aspect is great too as it helps gives my hair some added shine and hydration. Both of these are great for the price, and Dove haircare overall has never let me down.
Post shower, I've been getting into the at-home blow-dry. I don't do this every time I wash my hair as heat is obviously not great for it, but I love it every now and then. My hair can be very hard to work with, and straight and flat is the only style it tends to like *thumbs down emoji*, which is why I started spending a little more time on it post shower. The product I love to use when I blow-dry it, and when I let it dry naturally, is the John Frieda Blow Dry Lotion Root Booster. Anything with 'root booster' in the title gets my vote, and it really does add a nice amount of texture and volume to my flat roots. I do find when I blow-dry this into my hair, it holds it's shape a lot better and the volume tends to last a bit longer than when I let it dry naturally - I guess that's why it's a blow-dry lotion...If you suffer with flat roots, I would highly recommend this! The only thing I'm not so keen on is the smell, it's a bit chemically for my liking, but I can look past that.
