Evening Additions with Charlotte Tilbury.

Evening Additions with Charlotte Tilbury.

Whenever it comes to getting all glam in the evenings, Charlotte Tilbury is the brand I reach for. No, this is not sponsored, I just really really rate her products. There's something about the packaging and the formula which creates the perfect, luxurious feel to any look, and in the evenings I'm all about those vibes. There's a couple of newbies in this post which I can't wait to share my excitement for, and an old classic which I know so many of you adore as well.

I'm always up for something that is going to make my skin look like I've had a facial everyday for the past 10 years. Personally, I think CT nailed it with this one...

The Hollywood Flawless Filter is the most beautiful product for adding a natural glow to the skin. Now, this isn't a highlighter as such, nor is it a foundation. It falls somewhere in between.

The consistency is similar to a foundation, but it doesn't offer much coverage, it literally is a natural glow in a bottle. Not sure how she does it!

You can use this in so many different ways, which is why I love it - so user friendly. My go-to method of application is after I've done my foundation. I'll take the doe-foot applicator a dot the product across the centre of my skin and blend with a beauty blender. My skin has never looked so flawless and airbrushed. This technique is also great for that day-to-night transition!

You can also mix this in with foundation to give an overall more dewy look, or use it as a primer.

All the thumbs up for this beauty.

Now, even though that does add such a lovely, natural glow to the skin. I can't help but add more when I'm heading out in the evenings. For that I pop on a bit of the CT Beauty Light Wand.

If you've read my blog before, you may know my love for her Bronze and Glow contour and highlight duo. The highlight in that is simply stunning and by far one of my absolute favourites. But, I do looove a cream formula, so when CT came out with her Beauty Light Wand, I was so excited to give it a go. Spoiler; it did not disappoint!

If you too are a fan of her powder formulation, this gives you the same golden glow, but in a creamy, and even more glow inducing way. The applicator makes it really easy to apply, although it can get a bit messy as it's a little twist up sponge.

I know I add a lot in terms of glow to my completion, but I keep it minimal as far as colour on the cheek goes. Therefore I do like to add a bit more sparkle and interest to my eyes.

The CT eye quads are your one-stop-shop to gorgeous, and in her words, mesmerising eyes.

The quad I reach for the most in the evenings has to be The Dolce Vita. Complete with a gorgeous pearl base, a stunning rust, and of course the amazing shimmery bronze! Every time I open this palette up, I can't wait to get stuck in.

I don't wear loads of eyeshadow during the day, so when it comes to topping up, I simply go in with the bronze all over the lid. This is the best way to get that shimmery, smokey look, with minimal effort. I find the fingers the best way to apply this shade as you can really pack it on!

I'll then mix the rust shade, and the deep brown together and blend them through my crease and lower lash line. By mixing the two, you get a really lovely hint of the red-y shade, without it being too over-the-top! Then of course I pop a bit of the highlight shade in the inner corner.

The formulation of these shadows couldn't be lovelier. They have a great amount of pigment, yet still remain very easy to blend.

Of course no look is complete without a bit of lipstick. The CT lipsticks are definitely one of my favourites. The shades are so wearable and the formula is equally as beautiful. Bond Girl is one I've been loving to use in the evenings. It bridges the gap between a nude, and deeper rusty shade. An absolute stunner. As you can see, mine has been worn quite a lot...cleaning the bullet of a lipstick isn't something I've mastered just yet without getting rid of half the product...

This is part of her Matte Revolution line, but it's still very comfortable to wear, despite being a matte shade. It lasts really well and I can always reply on it when I'm heading out. I also still can't get over the packaging of her lipsticks. I own about 5 or 6 now, and every time I pick up another one it's just as special.

A £2 Moisturiser That Is Actually Pretty Decent.

A £2 Moisturiser That Is Actually Pretty Decent.

Proof you don’t always have to spend £££ on skincare...
For me, skincare doesn't always have to break the bank. I love to splurge, don't get me wrong, but you can certainly find great products for a fraction of the price. Simple is a brand I used all the time when I was a teenager. It was cheep and cheerful, and always got the job done with minimal faff. They don't got over the top with their packaging, the products aren't super complex and leave you wondering how you should use it, or if it will work for you. Basically, they're very user-friendly, not to mention really accessible.

Let’s talk hydration...

So for just over £2, you can pick up the Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser. This stuff will pretty much have you covered as far as hydration is concerned.

I picked this up in a pinch - I forgot my moisturiser when I was staying away one night (this was when they whether was super super cold, so I needed that hydration!) and this seemed like a safe bet, aaaand very affordable.

It really delivers as a great all-round moisturiser. Not too thick so you can apply it in the morning, but it's thick enough to apply PM too. I have the Kiehls Ultra Facial Moisturiser (the one in the bottle, not tub) and I find it very comparable.

The one from Keihl's is ever so slightly thicker, but other than that the differences are very small. Just worth mentioning incase you wanted to try the Kiehls offering!

It's a light-weight cream which sinks in really nicely and doesn't leave any weird residue on the skin. If I use it in the evenings my skin feels lovely and soft come the morning, and if I'm doing an AM application it sits well under makeup and keeps my skin nourished and hydrated all day long.

The packaging is super minimal, but I'm loving it. Some drugstore brands can put loads of thought and time into the packaging to draw people in, when actually it can have the adverse affect. Simple, truly are simple in the way they deliver their products, but it totally works in my opinion.

All in all I'm really impressed with this little find. I think it would work really well for all skin-types, even those of you with sensitive skin as the formula is very gentle. As far as moisturisers go, it is basic, but that's kind of why I love it, and why I think it works so well.

A Foundation Secret To Tackle Dry Skin.

A Foundation Secret To Tackle Dry Skin.

It has been cold over in the UK. The Beast from the East, or whatever it was called...really took a toll on my skin, and made it hella dry. My skin does lean more on the dry side anyway, so with the teeth chattering, minus temperatures we had over the past couple weeks, it was not in a good way. I really feel for those who live in even more winterly climates. Not suer how y'all do it.

Of course using good skincare products makes a huge difference, but your makeup choices can also determine how flakey your skin may be looking that day. I love a dewy finish at the best of times, so finding ways to make my skin even dewier was a challenge I was willing to accept.

Let's start with the base. Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation is a good all-rounder, and suits most skin-types. It falls slap bang in the middle of dewy and matte. And I know what you're thinking - 'hang on, didn't you just say you like a dewy finish?' 100% yes, but I'll get onto that in a sec.

This sits beautifully on the skin, which is why I've been reaching for it everyday. It doesn't settle into any dry patches, or accentuate the texture of my skin. That is why I'm including this baby. You're also guaranteed to find a shade that suits you, as it's Bobbi Brown, they have a wide shade range to chose from.

To kick this up a notch hydration wise, I've been adding a drop of oil. This juts makes everything that little bit more hydrating, that little bit more dewy, and all in all, a lot better for those colder climates.

The Kiehls Daily Reviving Concentrate has been my weapon of choice, and I bloody love it. Kiehl's oils in general are pretty special, so pick this one up if you get the chance. I find this mixes really well with my foundation. The texture is runny, it is an oil after all, but it doesn't make the foundation go slipping and sliding throughout the day.

If, like me, you're foundation gets eaten away because of how dry/dehydrated your skin can get, this is a trick I would highly recommend trying. One to two drops will do nicely, you don't want to go too overboard. You can also try moisturiser if you prefer a thicker texture.

Five Products To Enhance Your Beauty Routine.

Five Products To Enhance Your Beauty Routine.

I don't have a very fussy beauty routine as of late. Since switching from student mode, to full-time work mode, my mornings are super short, and my evenings are spent being in a constant state of tiredness. This means I don't really have the energy or time to be playing around with loads of different products. There are a few, however, which I'll add in here and there just to keep things interesting.

These aren't necessarily products which I'd say you definitely, 100% need to buy asap, but I love having them in my stash just incase.

The first is definitely a bit of a luxurious extra. Teeth whitening isn't something I've ventured into before, but I've always wanted to give an at-home kit a try. I was lucky enough to be sent over a little set from Nano which included some of their intensive whitening strips.

I was a bit nervous at first, and the 'intensive' part definitely had me hesitant, as I was unsure as to how my teeth would react. They were fine though, no signs of sensitivity which is great!

I love how easy these are to use, and have most certainly made a difference. I've been using them every 4/5 days, which I feel is a good amount to start with.

If you ever wanted to delve into the world of teeth whitening I would say this is a good place to start.

They also have a good toothpaste and mouthwash selection to help your teeth stay pearly white in-between uses!

I only have one makeup product in here, and I've only really included it because of the way I personally like to use it. Contour sticks are great over the top of makeup, but even better underneath in my opinion. This Chubby Contour Stick from Clinique is a gorgeous mid-toned brown shade which adds beautiful definition to the cheeks.

It looks seamless under foundation which is why I love to use it that way. It's not something I do often, as it is a bit of an unnecessary step in the mornings, but I love how it looks. I will normally go in with a powder bronzer also, but this sets off the contour/bronzing steps beautifully.

Next up is a haircare item, which for some may be a daily essential, but I use it when I can be bothered to...Ouai is a great brand for haircare, and their wave spray is fabulous to use after I've ran a quick curl through my hair. I never like my hair to look too perfect, so products like this are great if you need a little texture!

You don't want to go too overboard, as it can get a bit sticky, but used lightly creates lovely beachy waves. I know in the summer I'll be using the hell out of this, but for now it's nice to have for those odd occasions I actually want to do something to my hair!

I never find one can have too much skincare, but I personally have too many of those "use once in a while" products...again, not a bad thing...right? Toning is a step I try to do everyday, but it can be too much for the skin and start to dry it out. If you find your skin leans slightly on the dryer side, then why not try a hydrating toner? It will give you all the same benefits of your standard product, the tightening, the clarifying etc etc, but whilst adding a dose of hydration.

I've been using the By Terry Hydra Toner which was a pricey item, but it's lasted very well and I know is doing wonders for my skin. This is enriched with rose, which has so many great nourishing properties. In the winter, this has been great in include in my routine.

The other product I love is a multi-purpose balm. Again, some may class this as an everyday essential, but I just like to use them when I need to. I've been loving the Dr Lipp nipple balm, don't let the name foul you! You can apply this on your lips, cuticles, elbows, and any dry patches you may have.

I had some really bad dry patches on my chin...like, really bad...and nothing would clear them. One night I piled some of this on, and I'm not kidding, by the morning they were about 80% less dry!! I was amazed.

If you suffer with dry patches, try this out!
