My New Favourite Concealer

So today I will be talking about a concealer, and for once, it's not the Origins Plantscription...hold for applause...

I've heard so many good things about the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer since it was launched, and as my beloved Origins one was on it's way out, I thought I'd see what the fuss was about. It's described as a weightless concealer which still offers complete coverage, so did it deliver? (The title may give it away...)

I picked mine up in the shade 'light warm' which is my perfect under the eye shade as it's not too pink toned. The shade range is good, the have 8 to chose from, all varying in different tones which is handy. If I were to go back and get one to use for my faec/blemishes I may opt for a shade darker to match my skin better, but I love 'light warm' for brightening my under eyes.

Formula wise, it is very creamy and I find a lot goes a long way. I'll either use my fingers or my Real Techniques contour brush to blend it in and it looks flawless once applied. I've also used it around my nose where I tend to get dry patches and it didn't cling to them or look cakey, so it would be a good one to use on blemishes. It does a good job at covering my dark circles, although on bad days I do have a use a corrector underneath.

Concealer is notorious for creasing under my eyes and I'm happy to report this one doesn't. I do set it with the Soap and Glory Kick Ass Powder to really set it down and it lasts all day. Setting your under eyes is also a great tip if your mascara transfers, most mascara's I try would end up under my eyes but since I've been using a powder I find it doesn't!

This retails for £17.50, so not super cheap but not too pricey either. It's been compared to the Nars Creamy Concealer a lot too, so if you don't want to splurge for that, this would be a good option.

Kiko- Jungle Greens

Whenever I come across a Kiko, I have to wander in. It's an Italian makeup brand which has been compared to MAC, but about half the price, sounds fab I know! I've tried a couple of their lip colours and loved the formula, so I've been very keen to try out more from their range. The store can be a bit overwhelming, there are a lot of products and a lot of colours, so you can spend an eternity in there swatching and swooning over all the gorgeous shades.

Eyes were next on my list to try and I came across this gorgeous quad which has some stunning shades for all eye colours. This is their Colour Fever Eyeshadow Palette in 102 Jungle Greens which is made up of four shimmery shadows. I do like to have everything in one palette which is the only downside with this, I wish it had a good blending shade, but the colours are beautiful. The light champagne shade is a tad on the chalky side but I do find this with a lot of shimmery shades that are lighter. If you have the patience to pack it on the it looks great in the inner corner and brow bone to highlight. The formula of the other three are very buttery and blendable with good colour pay off. The two shades at the top are perfect for smokey eyes. I love either of them for blending over the lid and up into the crease, they work wonderfully at creating that effortless look. The one on the left is more taupe and the right is more of a khaki grey shade. The darkest shade in the palette works really well for adding some definition to the eyes, whether that be blended into the lash lines or into the crease for a dramatic look, the shimmer makes it very night out appropriate. You could also use these shadows wet, by spraying some MAC fix plus or even water onto your brush, to give them an intense metallic finish.

4 Brands I Want to Try in 2016

There are always new brands popping up in the blogging world which sound lovely and always get me online window shopping! This year I really want to branch out and explore some more brands which I love the look of. This post is just a little insight into some of those which get my beauty juices flowing.

TOM FORD
One of the reasons why I have yet to purchase anything from Tom Ford is the price point. It's a very luxury brand, and with that comes a luxury price tag, but the products really do live up to their high end status. The lipsticks look gorgeous and some of the nude shades are right up my street, the liquid liner also sounds like a catch for a winged liner lover like myself. Maybe this year I can treat myself...

MV ORGANIC SKINCARE
This is skincare brand which I haven't heard too many people talk about, but one of my favourite beauty bloggers and vloggers, Estee, raves about it. You can pick this up from Cult Beauty and the prices are fairly average for a higher end skincare brand. Two of the products I would love to pick up are the Rose Hydrating Mist and Gentle Cream Cleanser, both seem like staples to have in your routine and I love how you can actually read all the ingredients on the back!

TOO FACED
This is a brand I have always wanted to try for years, but only last year could we get it in the UK, hooray! There is a rather large list of things I would love to try from this brand, including their bronzer, mascara and hangover primer. You can now pick up Too Faced from Debenhams which makes me very happy and I'm excited to give some of their products a try this year.

LIVING PROOF
Haircare is always something I save on, Boots normally does a good job at stocking me up. This year however I wanted to invest in some more haircare staples to really get the best out of my locks. Living proof is always I brand I wander to when I'm in Space NK but never buy anything. Their new Perfect Hair Day Range sounds like something I'd love, and although it's not available win the UK yet, I'm still planning on giving it a go.

2016 Blogging Goals

2015 seems to have flown by, excuse the cliché, and there are so many things I want to do this year as far as blogging goes. I've never really set myself yearly goals before, but a new year always means a prefect time for change, so here are a few things I want to aim for in 2016.

CONTENT
I always like to come up with new and innovative content, but sometimes time can allow you to stick the same old things as you know that's what works. I'll always blog and love talking out beauty, after all thats why I started up 'abeautyromance', but dabbling in recipes and more lifestyle jibber jabber is something I want to do more of.

SET MYSELF CHALLENGES
This year I really want to blog more and a perfect way of doing that is to start things like 'Vlogmas' and 'Vlune', but blogger style. I would love this so much and it would be challenging, but no doubt rewarding, and hopefully you guys would enjoy that. I'm still a student so blogging everyday this year may be a push with everything else I have going on, but maybe one year I'll set myself that goal.

THE SOCIAL SIDE
I'm absolutely rubbish at tweeting ect to get my blog out there. I do have all the social media platforms so please follow me if you wish, however I'm always forgetting to post things on there...oops. This year I really want to tweet at least once a day, which I know is nothing to some people, and connect more with other bloggers. Maybe my life isn't that interesting but I still want to get myself out there.

BLOG DESIGN
Last year my blog design changed like the wind, but late last year I found one I'm really happy with. When you follow loads of other blogs you're constantly seeing beautifully designed pages which you want to steal for yourself. I fell into the habit of always looking for the perfect design and changing it a million times but then something was always missing. This year I'm happy with my look and am planning to stick to it! Creating a brand is important for bloggers and having a blog which is recognisable and consistent is something I really want to aim for.
